1989 Land Rover Defender 110 LHD
This Defender was built pre-covid with the goal of serving as an exceptional driving-vehicle, taking road miles fast, and going anywhere off-road to camp in comfort. This was professionally built to custom-tailored specs with almost every component sourced directly from the UK.
Everything mechanical has been replaced, save for for the transfer case and the body of which is in excellent shape. It remains free of rust; with only a few corrosion spots on the driver and rear doors where the aluminum and steel didn’t play well. The goal has been to ensure this 110 remains as “Land Rover” as possible, with only adding the best-of-breed components for performance, comfort and longevity.
It’s well capable of 80 on the highway, straight as an arrow, with heated leather seats and LR a/c. And, it’s fitted to let loose off-road thanks to the combination of performance tuned engine components and the adjustable OME suspension with a 3” lift, soft springs and anti-sway bars both front and rear. The suspension has been tuned soft to go fast in the desert and primitive mountain roads, but maintains articulation for the slower, technical operability— and moreover, won’t rattle you and your gear into madness. The interior rear is equipped with inward facing seats, a passenger-read refrigerator, and the extra wheel holder’s been converted to storage on the driver-rear. There is a removable carpet covered "bench" that spans the two benches and makes for a notable canine copilot perch.
